As my friend said Google does not like meta tags, so why they are known to be an important factor of Search engine optimization

    Meta tags still play an important role in search engine ranking. The Meta description is used by the search engine to rank a website when no keywords are found in the content. Therefore, it is important to optimize the Meta title and Meta description with keywords. The Meta title and Meta description should repeat the targeted keywords 3 - 4 times. You should not include too many keywords in the Meta title and Meta description otherwise it won't be effective anymore. The Meta Title should not contain too many keywords. Some people try to include as many keywords as possible in the title tag because they want the search engine to rank them for those keywords.

    If your website is new, including too many keywords in the title tag will not help in your search engine ranking. In fact, your website will rank lower than other website because you are manipulating the search engine. The topic of the page content is revealed in the Meta title and Meta description so it is unnecessary to include the Meta keywords.
