I have moved to UK all the way from Pakistan just a few months ago. In these few months, there have been a few things I have noticed and have often been surprised after discovering them. One thing which is common for both UK and Pakistan, that smoking is not encouraged on public places particularly while traveling in a bus or train. Unlike UK, drinking is not openly allowed in Pakistan. Although I have not seen anyone drinking on a train so far but I would like to know that if you are allowed to drink on trains.

Unlike UK which has a Metropolitan culture, Pakistan is a Muslim state and drinking in public is not openly allowed in any Muslim country. Although it is advised not to drink during travel almost everywhere in the world but as it is quite cold in some parts of UK so drinking there is not considered as unlawful until someone goes insane due to intoxication. In many trains, it is served in buffet and often sold on stations so one can possibly say that it is not disallowed.
