Question:

Bankruptcy that is not mine is showing up on my credit report

Actually, I am asking this question for my mother.  I, myself recently had to file for bankruptcy, but it turns out that because my mother and I have the same names (except for our middle names), and we live at the same address, my mother now has MY bankruptcy showing up on HER credit reports. There are also some of MY debts listed on her credit reports! Don't they check social security numbers before they assume exactly who someone is??? I am desperately trying to help my mother clear up this HUGE problem...my bankruptcy lawyer is of NO help to me! She does not want to be botheredand I do not know what to do to correct this problem. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
