With Portugal’s hopes of sealing a place in next summer’s World Cup rapidly fading, Cristiano Ronaldo must step up to the plate and inspire his nation in their remaining three qualifying matches.

    Ronaldo proved during his time at United that he's capable of winning matches by himself.

    But even this doesn't come close to the pressure he'll be under to secure Portugal's qualification.

    By the end of the Denmark game he was visibly frustrated after failing to make the impact he was desperate for.

    At times, Portugal appeared to have no plan other than giving the ball to Ronaldo and relying on him to do all the hard work.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they do qualify - but Ronaldo must handle the pressure in the right way.
