Can the Kansas City Chiefs win with Alex Smith as Their Quarterback?

    This is actually a very interesting question. The Kansas City Chiefs have not had a great deal of success lately save for some flashes when Priest Holmes was running all over the NFL almost a decade ago. Alex Smith has proven that he can manage a game as well as almost any other quarterback in the league. The moniker 'game manager' is often perceived as a negative however in the case of Smith, he took his team all the way to the NFC Championship game and would have won if not for a couple of muffed punts. 

   
   

   The Chiefs are in transition, with new coach Andy Reid and a new GM in place. They do have the foundation for an excellent defense, a unit that has been one of the best in the NFL over the past year and a half. They also have an excellent running game and a gifted runner in Jamal Charles. Reid has been a very successful coach in this league and if he can find some difference makers in the draft and get Smith to run the offense very well, it is a team that could be on the cusp of the playoffs come December.
