Cold and snow could not stop Horse Racing at Haydock. you can close the airports, schools and anything else but don't mess with horse racing in england. SATURDAY'S meeting at Haydock has passed a morning inspection.Officials had called for an 8am inspection on Saturday but decided to take an early look and were delighted with the results. The course has been covered with protective covers all week and they prevented any frost getting into the ground.Kirkland Tellwright, clerk of the course at Haydock, said: "Racing goes ahead. Temperatures dropped to a low of -6C overnight but the covers did the job."No frost has got into the ground so we can race. We will leave thecovers on the course until later later, as we do not want to risk any frost getting into the ground as temperatures are still very low."The going at Haydock is described as soft, good to soft in places on the hurdle course and soft on the chase course.
