Three years after the decriminalization of abortion in Mexico City, the issue has resurfaced. The Supreme Court of Justice shall review the constitutional reforms of Baja California and San Luis Potosi states in establishing the right to life from the moment of conception.

An abortion is a procedure to terminate a pregnancy. Medicine or surgery is used to remove the embriÃ_no the fetus and placenta from the uterus. The procedure is performed by a licensed physician or someone acting under the supervision of a licensed physician.

According to the Minister Fernando Franco, reforms intended to standardize laws of the federal and state constitutions, as there are differences in the right to life of children and the rights of women.

Reforms such as Baja California and San Luis were passed in 16 state legislatures after the abortion was passed in Mexico City in 2008. In some states women who practice it even punishable by imprisonment.
