A study published by the National Institutes of Health and the Association of American Retired Persons (AARP for its acronym in English), noted that a diet rich in fiber reduces the risk of death. This research shows that daily consumption of fiber reduces the risk of cancer deaths in men but not in women. The explanation is that males are more likely to die from some form of cancer linked to diet, such as the esophagus. The conclusiÃ_na the researchers reached is that diets high in fiber from grains, increase the strength of our body. The study published in Archives of Internal Medicine, included more than 388,000 adults, aged 50 and 71 years. In this it is stated that men and women who ate more fiber had 22 % less chance of getting cancer, compared to those who ate less fiber. Participants completed a questionnaire between 1995 and 1996 in which they were asked about their eating habits. They were asked how often they consumed 126 specific foods. So you know, if you want to live longer, say yes to the fiber.
