The inaugural T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa moved on to be successful as it carried on. The excitement went on to reach the top when the two biggest arch rivals Pakistan and India, who both suffered an early exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup (50 over format) booked their place in the big Final of the tournament. It was the biggest event of a big event. The cricket lovers as well as the organizers cannot ask for something more exciting. The match started with great momentum with India batting first and posting a reasonable target of 157 runs for Pakistan to win. At one stage Pakistan was in a very miserable situation and it seemed that India would win rather comprehensively and with a good margin. Nevertheless, there was some extravagant fighting display by Pakistan that continued to the very last ball and thus proved to be an ideal Pakistan-India final since the Austral-Asia Cup final in 1986 which Pakistan won beating India on the last ball of the match. The Pakistani viewers were expecting the same to happen in this T20 World Cup final when they had their batsman fighting till the last ball. Coming so close to the victory the Pakistani batsman played a silly shot which was captured by an Indian fielder, thus making India champions of the first ICC Cricket World Cup. This match seemed to have given a big compensation not only to Pakistan and India but to the ICC who went through a dreadful run earlier the same year.
