At DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore, the faculty offers an extensive array of academic experts and industry professionals. Below are some featured profiles of talented and qualified instructors that DigiPen Singapore students have access to. Since Prasanna Ghali joined DigiPen in 1994, he has been involved in the development of computer/video games as well as computer graphics and game software development pedagogies. During 1998 to 2002, he was employed at Nintendo Software Technology Corporation (NSTC) as the Vice President of Engineering. During his tenure at NSTC, Prasanna was involved in the development of several video game titles. He was the technical lead for Ridge Racer 64, Wave Race: Blue Storm and 1080° White Storm. Prasanna returned to DigiPen in 2002 to continue his interests in teaching and research on various topics related to game development, including computer graphics and game engine design. Dr. Jahn has been teaching since he was a graduate student, and has held various teaching positions at the University of Wisconsin, the University of New Mexico, and Indiana University. He has taught at DigiPen for the past 10 years. Roberto Dillon holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Genoa, where his research focused in designing and developing computer models for analyzing artificial emotions within interactive multimedia applications. Roberto worked as programmer/analyst in his hometown, Genoa in Italy, before moving to Stockholm, Sweden, as a guest researcher at the Department of Speech, Music and Hearing within the Royal Institute of Technology. In 2005, Roberto moved to Singapore as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University’s gameLAB to design and develop innovative serious and educational games with a special focus on artificial intelligence and interactive audio techniques.

Prior to joining DigiPen Singapore, Roberto lectured on different subjects including sound design and game production at Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Interactive and Digital Media.

So far, his main projects include:

‘Virtual Orchestra’, an original game/simulation which introduces children to music. It was featured internationally in magazines and newspapers such as ‘USA Today’, where it was touted as the ‘guitar hero for the symphony crowd’.
‘M-EDGE: the Music and Emotion Driven Game Engine’, an innovative project funded by the Singapore National Research Foundation which allows new game play mechanics based on the expression of emotions through playing a real musical instrument in real time.
Roberto is often invited to give talks and lectures in industrial and academic conferences alike (Game Convention Asia, Korea Games Conference, Serious Games Summit, Computer Games and Allied Technology, etc.) He is also an IGDA (International Game Developers Association) member.
