Has anyone heard of Bullous Fruit please

   yes it is a cross between a sloe berry and a cherry plum

   I live in North Devon and we have several Bullus 'trees' in the old cottage garden behind us, the fruit is just ripening now and the branches are beginning to hang really low with the weight. If made into a jam it is really sharp unless loads of sugar! The fruit looks a little bigger and more purple than sloes, one day I will try making bullos gin!

   Yes I have, we had them at the bottom of our garden in Northampton, I made jam with them, it was delicious, a bit if a pain though taking out all the stones. Barbara
