Has the band My Chemical Romance split up? If so, why?

     Unfortunately for fans of the successful band, My Chemical Romance has indeed split up. An announcement was officially made via the band's website on Friday, March 22, 2013.

   As for the reason, Gerard Way, lead singer of the band cited the fact that the exact things that made the band so great creatively and musically was exactly what would lead to the demise of the band. According to Way, if that were to eventually bubble over or cease to exist the band would have to break up. It was the only way to protect their image and legacy.
