    Fleas can be an incredibly irritating pest for you and your cat to deal with. Luckily, there are several natural ways to prevent, control and get rid of fleas that are harming your cat or even dog. Owners need to be mindful of fleas at various stages of their life cycle; eggs, larvae and adults.

   
   

   Within your home, washing your cat's bed, bedding or favourite cushion in the washing machine will go a long way in killing fleas. Vacuuming thuroughly and often will also control fleas. Another interesting suggestion is the use of dehumidifiers, as fleas thrive in air that is 50% humidity.

   
   

   Bathing your cat regularly will also be a huge help. Fleas can be seen floating in bath water. Another great suggestion is a homemade flea bath - boil two cups rosemary leaves in two pints of water for 30 minutes. Discard leaves and add the solution to a gallon of water. Wash your pet with this, allowing them to air dry. A flea comb can then be used after bathing to remove all remaining fleas.
