When a person who is allergic to milk products eats something that contains milk products, the body's immune system mistakenly sees the milk proteins as a danger. The immune system responds by creating specific antibodies, which are designed to fight off the "Danger" These antibodies are called as immunoglobulin E — trigger which then results in a release of certain chemicals into the body, one of which is histamine.
So whenever a person allergic to milk products eats something with milk in it, the immune system than try's to protect the body by releasing chemicals, the relesase in chemicals then affects the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and the cardiovascular system — causing allergy symptoms like wheezing, nausea, headache, stomachache, and itchy hives.
Milk allergy is like most food allergy reactions: It usually happens within minutes to hours after eating foods that contain milk proteins. Most reactions last less than a day and may affect any of three body systems stated above.
