Hi there,

I'm a junior and in AP calc BC. Next year im thinking to take ap stat since there isn't any math class left. But i've heard ap statistics requires a lot of reading, which i suck at.

The things im good and bad at:

Good: math, calculations, calculators, graphs, remembering formulas, and stuff like that. math ACT score 31
Bad: Vocabulary. Reading, i read slow and/or have to read 2-3 times. reading ACT score 18.

So, i truly need your advise, guys. i dont have to take a math class, but if ap stat doesnt require a lot of reading, i should give it a try.

your opinions on ap statistics please..

Thanks.

In the course you will study introduction to Statistics, differential calculus and analytical geometry, introduction to probability distribution, integral calculus, basic statistical inference, C++, Mathematical methods and vector analysis, introduction to regression analysis, ANOVA and ANCOVA, applied Statistics, linear programming, probability and probability distributions-I, sampling techniques I & II, introduction to database, design and analysis of experiments-I & II, multivariate analysis-I & II, population studies etc and at the end of the course a thesis. As you said yourself that you are good in math, calculations, calculators, graphs, remembering formulas, then statistics will be a good subject for you. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics provide a variety of subjects at initial secondary and tertiary levels that are designed to prepare students for professional careers in mathematics and statistics.
