   To install a Starter on a Dodge Avenger, you need to follow tthe method given below:

   
   

   Detach the negative battery wire. On many models of Avenger, the negative wire is connected to the strut tower located left side of the battery. Place the grommet on the negative left of the battery to cover the strut attachment to avoid an accidental ground after detaching the wire.
   
   Take out the air cleaner assembly to get access to the starter motor if needed on your specific Avenger model.
   
   Remove the exhaust pipe, if required, to reach to the starter motor on your specific Avenger model having 2.5L engine. Now use a ratchet and socket for that.
   
   Unbolt the upper starter-mounting nut with the help of a wrench and socket.
   
   Lift the front of the vehicle utilizing a floor jack and securely hold up it on 2 jack stands to come to the base starter climbing on attach if required.
   
   Set a drain pot under the oil filter if you have a 2.5L engine in your vehicle and you have to eliminate the filter to lift off the starter. Take out the oil filter with the help of an oil filter wrench. Detach the wires and the starter motor by using a wrench or ratchet and socket.
