Hello, I am looking for recipe for home made buttermilk which can be prepared quickly so I can make it when needed. Secondly, let me know if this homemade buttermilk will be exact substitute of the one we buy from market or it’s somehow different?

Well, there’s certainly a difference in taste, but not too much. In order to make buttermilk a home, you need to mix the regular milk with vinegar or lemon juice in appropriate proportion. Follow the details below:

    You need:

    1.       1 cup of regular milk

    2.       1 Tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice

Mix the tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice with milk to bring the liquid up to the one-cup line. Now wait for five minutes and then use as much as your recipe calls for.

    Note:

    ·         It’s a quick recipe which takes around 5 minutes only.

    ·         If you have heavy cream, that’s perfect for real buttermilk with great taste.
