Once I went to a restaurant in Beijing, China. To my surprise, the walls in the restaurant were painted in black with silver lines thus creating a very romantic atmosphere. I liked the idea so much that I decided that if ever I will open up a restaurant, the walls will be painted in the same way. For this reason I would like to know how to do black paint and silver lines on walls if there is a particular technique involved in it.

It is not very difficult to paint walls in this fashion but there certainly is a proper way of doing so. If you go on to paint the walls black right away, that may leave odd blotches on the wall thus giving it an untidy look. First you have to wash down the walls and leave till fully dried. After that you'll have to put on a base coat, and usually when painting black, you use a darker gray primer that will be available at your local hardware store. Once you are done with black paint and ensured that the walls are dry, proceed with silver paint but it is better to first paint a small section of the wall to see how the silver color appears on the black wall.
