What is the best way to install I9000XXJVS Firmware on Galaxy S? I have recently purchased my new Galaxy S and now I need to know the way to install I9000XXJVS Firmware on it.

"Prerequisite: • Samsung USB Drivers • Odin software • Charge your phone battery up to a good level Now follow these steps carefully: Phase 1- setting up PC and backup • Install the Samsung USB drivers • Unzip the main firmware file and you will see these files: 1. CODE_I9000XXJVS_CL565837_REV03_user_low_ship.tar 2. GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVS.tar 3. MODEM_I9000XXJVS_REV_00_CL1059471.tar 4. s1_odin_20100512.pit • Take Backup of your contacts messages and other data from your phone. Please note that this procedure doesn`t format your internal memory, only messages, contacts and apps will be erased. • Shut down Samsung Kies completely • Run Odin file • Power off your Galaxy S and wait till one vibrate comes to ensure complete switch off Phase 2 - Upgrading the firmware • Hold Volume down key+ Home button key and press power on to go into download mode • Connect your phone with USB cable • You should get the message “Added” under the Odin’s message box in the bottom left. • Check only Re partition, Auto reboot & F. Reset time in option • Put the files like this in Odin: 1. PIT = s1_odin_20100512.pit, 2. PDA = CODE_I9000XXJVS_CL565837_REV03_user_low_ship.tar, 3. Phone = MODEM_I9000XXJVS_REV_00_CL1059471.tar, 4. CSC = GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVS.tar • Press the start button and process will start • Wait until your phone gets restart and then unplug the cable *Installing custom firmware is a risky procedure please install it at your own risk. Do it only if Model number exactly matched to i9000."
