    Hummus with pita bread or vegetables is a healthy snack and easy to make. You can substitute mayonnaise for your sandwiches or margarine on your toast with this delicious combination to make it diet.

    If you've never done it,try it! You will not regret.

    ingredients

    2 cups cooked chickpeas

    3 tablespoons tahini (sesame paste)

    3 cloves garlic, minced

    4 tablespoons lemon juice

    2 tablespoons cilantro

    Â_ tablespoon ground cumin

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    Salt to taste

    If you have time to cook chickpeas natural buy them and you let them soak overnight. The next day boil them for half an hour, adding salt fifteen minutes before removing from fire. Once cool, peel with hands; do not waste water.

    Grind the chickpeas with tahini, garlic, cumin, salt and lemon. Add olive oil to soften the mixture. Add a cup of water in which the chickpeas cociste. If the mixture is too thick add more water.

    Failure to get an onion tahini sewn together with chickpeas and grind it well. If you want to make it spicy add cayenne pepper.

    Garnish with cilantro and refrigerate until ready to serve. Humus can be frozen for up to three months.
