    The answer to this question depends on a multitude of things. First and foremost, you must understand the inherent responsibility and effort that a dog requires. They are absolutely lovely creatures that are loyal and friendly, however the day to day upkeep is something that must be considered.

   
   

   Beyond this of course is your baby. 6 months is a great age, and your child is only going to get bigger and more aware. I personally think that it is a great age for a baby to be introduced to a pet dog. If you are good with animals and have experience with them, that past will aid you considerably. The main thing is that you are very good at taking care of your baby and doing what you need to do on that front. Once that is set, a dog is a great addition to a family.
