I have a Panasonic SA-HT940 home theater system. It works through the dvd player but I'm not getting sound when I switch it to "tv". It is hooked up with an hdmi cable since I have an LCD HDTV. My tv does not have audio video output so I thought the hdmi would work fine. What do I need to do to fix this? I've even tried messing with the settings on my tv but still no sound...

I am also having the same problem , same surround unit SA-HT940 hooked up with HDMI and playe with all the settings,it worked fine with my older samsung plasma because it had the audio output jacks. On this new Panasonic 54'' plasma there are no regular output jacks only the fiber-optic audio output, and there is no fiber input on the 940
I had emailed panasonic a few days ago and have not heard anything back.
I have called panasonic on the phone and no one knew jack!I will answer if someone from panasonic contacts me and I figure it out !
