    The BMW 1 Series is one of innovative range of small family cars that designed by the German automaker BMW in 2004. It was the successor of the BMW Compact; it has been manufactured in four different body styles. Two generations of the 1 Series and their relevant chassis codes are available, which are BMW E87  and it was first release in 2004 and 1 Series 5 Door Hatchback and BMW E81  which was first release in 2007.
   
   The BMW 1 Series E81/E87 and E82/E88 models are one of entry level sports car manufactured by the German automaker BMW in 2004. The 1 Series is rare in its category as it features unique-wheel drive, 50:50 options, weight balance, a longitudinally-mounted engine and an advanced aluminum multilink suspension characters. It is recently BMW's second best-selling choice, recording for nearly one-fifth of the total sales during 2008. The 1 Series was launched worldwide in autumn 2004 and hold several structural, chassis, power train, hardware and electronic options with the larger 3 Series. The automobile was started to offer a lower point of entry into the BMW collection as the 3 Series moved consistently up-market. Earlier launched as a 5-door hatchback, a 2-door coupe version was also released in July 2007. The 1 Series is priced between the MINI and the current E90 3 Series. Because the hatchback is the only rear wheel drive vehicle in its category, it is often regarded as the successor of the BMW 2002.
