    Indian agriculture started by 9000 BC as a result of early cultivation of plants, and domestication of crops and animals. Lives established and flourish here soon as a result of those techniques and strategies which were developed and implement for agriculture. The double monsoons rains enable the farmers to cultivate two crops in one year. The excellent trading network of India introduced the country’s products in the global market and on the same time foreign crops were introduced to India. Plants and animals are considered important to their survival by the Indians as they also use them for religious worships.
   
   With the passage of time the system of irrigation channels introduced in India due to which India reach a new level of sophistication and Indian crops influenced the economies of other regions of the world under Islamic patronage. Land and water infrastructure systems were developed with an objective of delivering consistent growth. Despite some stagnation during the later modern period the independent Republic of India was able to make a strong agricultural program.
   
   The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), developed in 1905, was responsible for the research leading to the "Indian Green Revolution" of the 1970s. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is the main authority in agriculture and associated allied fields, including research and education related to agriculture.
