I happen to know a lot of people who have been victims of heart failure. It is worth-mentioning here that the situation of heart failure in each case is quite different from the other. For this reason, I would like to know about different types of heart failures.

Heart failure does not simply mean that the heart has stopped working all of a sudden. Instead it means that the heart does not pump blood efficiently enough to meet the body's requirements for oxygenated blood. There are about as much as 6 types of heart failures. Their names and brief descriptions are given below:
Congestive Heart Failure: This may be caused by a fluid in the lungs or body that results from the heart's inability to pump properly.
Right-sided heart failure: It is caused when there is failure in the pumping action of the right side of the heart
Left-sided heart failure: This happens when due to the failure of the pumping action of the left side of the heart thus causing lung congestion.
Forward heart failure: It may take place during exercise and even while at rest when the heart becomes unable to pump enough blood to meet the needs of the body for oxygen.
Backward heart failure: This is caused when heart filling pressures are too high making it unable to pump oxygen as required.
High output heart failure: This can happen when the body's requirement for blood is increased like in case of hyperthyroidism, or Pagets Disease and the heart is unable to meet the increased requirements of rich oxygenated blood.
