The man's 29 point outpouring in the first half of the Golden State Warriors' second round match-up against the San Antonio Spurs was absolutely amazing to watch. Are we witnessing the emergence of a star?

Although it might be too early to deem the 23 year old guard as the second coming of his devastating shooter and legitimate star teammate Stephen Curry, there is no doubt that his 34 point and 14 rebound performance earlier this week highlighted by 7 3-pointers and 29 points in the first half were an event.
Thompson displayed daft shooting as well as strong rebounding and solid defense. Although a very strong shooter, Thompson's first half display eclipsed almost all but six other games he has played in his entire career. Six games wherein he scored more than 29 points in the entire game not half of it.
If he comes out and has another performance like that one then we may have to consider it more than a case of a shooter getting hot. It has happened before although there is no doubt that Thompson is a very solid player that is a key piece of a very good playoff team.
