    Sign in to your Messenger
    click 'Messenger' menu
    click 'Preferences'
    click 'Archives'
    check 'Yes, Save all of my messages'
    click 'Apply' and 'Ok'
    Now after chat to view those click 'Contacts' menu on the Y!M and click 'Message Archive'

    But have 1 doubt how do u get old chats?? my system got formatted last week.

    so, any possibility to get it from the server? is the server storing it?
