Cars - Though American automakers are more comfortable building land whales, not automotive minnows, the Aveo is a pint-sized compact that will leave plenty of room in both the garage and the checking account. The 2009 Aveo carries a 1.6-liter Gen 3 Ecotec engine, and with a manual transmission it earns an Environmental Protection Agency fuel-economy estimate of 27/34 mpg (city/hwy). Available as a sedan or 5-door hatchback, the Aveo carries standard front and seat-mounted side-impact airbags. Wearing a Pontiac nameplate, the Aveo is known as the G3.

How the gas prices were moving in the U.S and around the world, car makers had no choice but to create small cars that give you more mileage for your money. These days there are a lot of small cars pounding their chests and claiming they get the best gas mileage around.

More and more people are buying cars that are now small cars compared to the 4 x 4 trucks that were popular just few years ago, students, people who travel alone to work and people with tight budgets are all opting in for small cars now. In Europe small cars can also be very beneficial due to lack of parking.
