    Hi,
First off, I am assuming what you mean by architectural roof  is an asphalt or composition shingle roof that is both thicker, especially at the butt end. and often has greater variation of thicknesses. This is to create a roof with greater texture and which more closely resembles a traditional wood shingle or shake roof. If this is not the case, please let me know.

Now, as to 'bumpy'. 'Bumpy' is a pretty vague term and I am not quite sure what you mean by it. Are there groups of or individual shingles that are raising above the adjacent shingles or that individual shingles themselves have developed a bumpy texture?

Actually I don't have any idea what would cause either situation. It may be just an artifact, that the coloring of the roofing as it weathers makes it appear bumpy. Or it could actually be the shingles are deforming.

Perhaps you can either post some photographs of the roof from different points of view. You can post the pictures with one of the image servers on line. They are free. All you'd need to do is upload them and give me the account and password for that account. When we've figured this out, you can close that account or change the password.

I am quite interested in this. I've never heard of this before and I like to figure out strange things.
