My model wm1018cd paper shredder was working fine then just stopped, only works in reverse

   You need to check that the unit electricity supply wire is securely plugged into a socket.
   
   It might be over heated if you keep it on for continuous shredding, it may have overheated and the thermal protection feature of the shredder activates to turn off. Switch off the shredder for at least 30 minutes/1 hour for it to reset in case of overheating.
   
   During “Auto” mode, the shredder will not run until paper is correctly inserted into the middle of the feed entry slot. It is because the trigger that activates the shredder is placed in the middle section of the feed entry slot. If the paper you are shredding is narrow, be sure to feed directly into the center. It is normal function of the motor to work for a short moment when the shredder is on “Auto” setting mode. It only runs constantly in the “Reverse” mode.
   
   The main button is located in the middle of the feed entry slot, which activates the shredder, might be blocked. To work it properly, you would need to put an index card or file folder in the middle of the feed slot. This will help you to clear any paper blocking the activation button and reset the shredder.
   
   Be sure that the part of head unit of the shredder is properly seated onto the included wastebasket with the words and icons facing you.
