   The Dodge Magnum name has been used on a number of different automobiles. The most recent is a large rear-wheel drive station wagon which was launched in 2004 for the 2005 model year and remained in the market till 2008. Magnum is first car of Dodge brand to use the platform of the new Chrysler LX platform, shared with the Dodge Charger  and the Chrysler 300 . The The Dodge Magnum is built at Brampton Assembly Plant located near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
   
   The Magnum name was revived in 2004 as a 2005 estate car on the Chrysler LX platform. The new Magnum was basically an estate car version of the Chrysler 300, with minor style changes.
   
   In 1991, the Magnum was the first station wagon of Dodge after the discontinuation of the Dodge Colt wagon.
   
   The Magnum was introduced with four engine options as the SE features the 190 hp 2.72 L LH V6, the SXT had the 250 hp (190 kW) 3.5 L V6, and the RT had the new 340 hp 5.7 L Hemi V8. The SRT-8 has a 425 hp 6.1 L Hemi engine.
   
   Optional All-wheel drive was introduced in 2005 on SXT and RT models. The SRT8, AWD SXT, and the RT are equipped with the Mercedes-Benz-derived 5-speed automatic transmission, whereas in all other models there are four-speed automatic transmissions.
