Radio Shack 43-3829, how do I change the number of rings before it answers?

The answering machine picks up on the 7th ring how do I change what ring it picks up on?

    You'll be embarrassed! Look at the back of the device.  See the slide bar with the numbers 2/4/7/TS ?  That means 2 rings, 4 rings, 7 rings and "Toll Saver". Move the switch to select the number of rings you desire. Right now your switch is set to "7".  Then you're done!

    Speaking of the back of the device, I just bought one of these used, but the remote access code had been scratched out by the previous owner. Would you know what it is? Looks like it might be 3 digits. Thx in advance.
