The Remote Desktop Connection is a technology that allows a user to sit at a computer, often called the client computer, connect to a remote computer which is called the host computer in a different location. This means that a user can connect to your work computer from your home computer and have access to all of your programs, files, and network resources as though you were in front of your computer while at work. The programs can be left running at work and then, and by the time you reach home, can see your work computer's desktop displayed on your home computer, running the same programs. In order to find the Remote Desktop Connection shortcut, click the Start button, and then click All Programs or Programs, and then click Accessories. To promptly open Remote Desktop Connection, open the Start menu, and then type mstsc in the Search box. It should be noted that Remote Desktop Connection cannot be used to connect to computers running Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Basic N, or Windows Vista Home Premium. However, you can connect from those editions of Windows Vista to computers running other versions of Windows like Windows 7 home premium.
