Serena Hotel in Islamabad Review. My first visit to Serena hotel was dazzling. It's the best hotel in Islamabad, most gorgeous setting, surrounded by mountains. The hotel is up on a hill and good distance away from the road making it safe and secure without losing the best a hotel has to offer in Islamabad.
I was there on a business trip with my wife, and stayed in one of the beautiful Executive rooms. It was huge room with marvelous furniture, room size bathrooms with separate his and her sink along with a tub and very well nice showers. King size bed was truly king and there were so many drawers I could not use them all but I loved the loveseat and sat in it almost throughout my stay. It was the best home away from home experience I felt in many years.
Since I’m a environmentalists it was great to see Serena being an eco friendly hotel; they provide most of the services on demand, changing bed sheets and new towels etc. Housekeeping was spotless, although I asked for many extra things such as robes, pillows and towels they took care of it instantaneously. Turn down service is excellent. I usually forgo it at other hotels, but they do things so nicely here I always opted for it.
My room had a gorgeous view of the mountains and the food was just simply amazing. Food at Café Moughal was not hotel like and my wife voted it as the best in entire South Asia; Now that is something to be proud of, she is very picky. Hotel buffet in quality and taste surpassed even Café Moughal, once hooked we ate there every night; They served amazing Pakistani , Afghani, and Indian food -- mouthwatering spicy roasted lamb, huge peaces of spice-rubbed filets, an incredible choices of very fresh fish and chicken dishes. We ate there 5 nights in a row and every night the dishes were different! We hated to leave. We thanked the chef and took pictures with him which are now forever captured in our memories and in the photo album.
I would love to go back to Serena Hotel regardless of all the media reports of Islamabad being under siege. We travel a lot and always stay at the best hotels; money is never an issue and somehow the Serena hotel in Islamabad really felt like home to us. The service is so friendly and so eager to hit perfection, we were overwhelmed.
