I got an offer in sherwood academy as a teacher.  Would like to know more about the school and abu dhabi in general to live in.  Please do answer.

     in my opinion, its the best cbse school in sherwood now the teachers are soo nice  and they talk to us as friends and corrects as our parents idk abt who and how were they back then.but now the students hu went to other schools now tell me tht they miss sherwood and other schools are so strict i know the teachers are kinda strict but its for our good but its not like they keep us in the class for the whole day or something . today its closing and Mrs. george gave us a every huge gift  . all i have to say is tht its the best school in my life and i will miss it

     I am sorry to say this I really feel like throttling all those who say Sherwood is a bad school. I am currently studying in grade 6 section C in sherwood. Today  while I was surfing the net I found this question. How I wish I found this questionlong ag, so I could answer it. My answer to all those who have this question is that please don't reject it because it will be the best experience of your life because I have experienced it. I study in that school. I ought to know it. The teachers are great. They make a good company for each other. They talk to us like our friend. We can look up to them for anything. They teach in such a way that there is no chance of anyone not understanding the topic. Even if they have any doubts or problems, the teachers have stayback classes for them to clear all their doubts or to cover up their absent classes. According to me, Sherwood is the best school. It is more like my habit because from KG1 till now I have studied here so if there is anything good in me it is because of this school. I know some people might think this schoool is not good but if they can't adjust in Sherwood then studying anywhere else is very tough. But now I don't think there is more time to join Sherwood because it is closing. But I am happyt beause my parents decided that I will continue here till the school closes. So I will get another awesome chance for studying here. According to me, Sherwood is the best CBSE school in the world nd the best schoo in the world. By the way, can I know your name?     If you want to be terribly scarred for the rest of your life, then this is the school for you! In the O level side, children are treated like c**p whereas local kids are treated like royalty. They literally tell everyone that you are second class citizens. Most teachers are unpredictable and randomly give out punishments which increases the air of terror in every classroom. Library is present but guess what? Every book has 4-5 copies! You wont get a lot of variety- just 5 books with tons of their replicas. They have cameras in every classroom so youre being monitored EVERY second! There is a large amount of discrimination and sexism. For example- girls dont GET to run around in lunch, they have to stand in lines and eat "properly". Look over at the  guys, and theyre having fun, playing ball and what not. Next, there was a time when girls were given this tiny little playground with truck loads of kids for lunchtime! Guys, on the other hand, got the huuuge playground just for themselves! There isnt much you will learn in this school except how to be a nice little conformist.

    KEEP UR SELF AWAY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS s**t HOLE DUDE!!! SERIUSLY...you can check in any time you like, but you can never leave!..that's the best advice i can give u...TAKE IT! or die hard trying

    I used to teach at that school, worst experience of my life.  There's no facilities, and you're denied common decencies such as Staff Rooms, Teaching tables, and the like.
    The worst of it was, we were made to stick together two pages from a chapter on reproduction in an 8th grade textbook. That was the final straw for me.

    for a student it is the best school cuz u will never find such amazingly talented and dedicated teachers anywhere else in the world and for picking them up from the corners of the world i thank mrs.susheela george but i wish if she would give the teachers better living spaces, salaries and freedom.

     It's the best school for the CBSE and IGCSE curriculums.The teachers are hardworking,committed and dedicated-the best teachers in abu dhabi.If you think you fit the bill -accept the post.Any doubts regarding living and working conditions-clear them before you land in Abu Dhabi-if you don't and accept anyways then keep your trap shut thereafter.

    The management treat their employees harshly. I recall a time when the teachers did not receive their salary for few months. There is a lot of discrimination among the teachers too.

    Students in sherwood dont get a chance to breathe! Teachers release all there stress on the students all the time. Sure I understand people like to educate others about their culture, but I do not understand when they try to enforce it on you! I had no social life. Parents who simply want a good grade for their children can happily send their kids to sherwood. Their kids probably will grow to be scared to let his/her thoughts out, pretty much learn to be a kiss a*s nerd with no social life. The management always gets into the personal life of their students. They also physically and verbally abuse students all the time (Many students are going to testify to that, actually all students)


     


    There was a time when Mrs Bindu believed that Christ came down to her and spoke to her and made a fuss about it school. Lols that was epic. Mr Glen, one word “PERV”


     


    I've been a student at sherwood for 11 years. I could go on and on about this school. What ever happens just try NOT to be a part of this.


     


    Though I give credit to the management for the way they do business and exploit cheap labour. They did make tons out of them.

    I was a student there and passed out in '02. Was a s**t hole Back then. I dunno if Mrs. George still exists... But if she does... It bound to be a s**t hole even now... Walk away !

     All teachers get high salaries man! they get the highest among other Indian schools in Abu Dhabi....... also, the quality of education is very good..... Teachers also get free food, accomodation, and other facilities... GO FOR IT!
