How Toyota is ensuring its Quality and Safety in the production of different vehicles,  are there any steps or procedure that Toyota follows to provide better service to its customers?

    At Toyota, major steps have taken to become a more responsive, safety-focused organization. Here are some of the actions that are taken be an industry leader in the field of quality and safety:

    1. First they Establish a Committee for Global Quality under the direction of Global President named Akio Toyoda to reexamine all the aspects of quality assurance.

    2. Star Safety System has now become a standard across all lineups

    3. Making the SmartStop Technology brake override system standard on all new models. Created SMART Teams that help to quickly investigate reports of unintended acceleration

    4. Established independent Quality Advisory Panel – which was chaired by former U.S. Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater

    5. Increase in use of the Event Data Recorder (“black boxes”) in our cars for better data collection and providing the new EDR readers to government safety regulators

    6. Setting up the Design Quality Innovation Division in Japan and then transferring 1,000 engineers to remain focus on design of components and regarding other quality issues.

    7. Created a new team of almost 100 engineers to audit vehicle quality by studying use by different customers.

    8. Expanding the product development cycle by 4 weeks to help ensuring high quality/safety.

    9. Developing next-generation test dummy to help guard against internal organ damage in the case of an accident –also licensing to other automakers and universities

    10. Refining our global Early Detection, Early Resolution (EDER) system that include a wider variety of sources to help in monitoring quality/safety, including customer calls, web mentions and government databases

    11. Appointing 4 North American leaders to join 5 others as presidents of plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, also providing more regional autonomy

    12. Establishing new 6 additional Product Quality Field Offices all over North America to improve in ability to detect and respond to all customer and quality issues.

    13. Opening up of electronic technology to the unprecedented level of review by the outside experts, including NASA, the National Academy of Sciences and engineering firm .
