Strange silent flash of blue light indoors

   Today, Dec 10, 2010, my mother and I witnessed a bright blue flash of light in her living room. No sound, no smell, no disturbance of electrical or electronic appliances. Very bright, bluish (rather like a camera flash.) Non-directional. Filled the entire room at once. Clear day, low humidity, calm wind. Lasted a fraction of a second. Any takers?

   Jan 27, 2011 8:35pm. My husband and I just had a very similar experience in our apartment as well. We were watching a movie in the living room and all of a sudden in our dining and sun room a beam of blue light, odorless, without sound which also caused no disturbance to our electrical devices lit up these rooms. We can view both sitting from our living room. This was a beam of darkish blue light almost similiar to something you would see in the movies that some transformer character would shoot out. It seemed like it came in through the dining room window within a fraction of a second. This stream of light orginated in the dining room and shot out into our sun room for a total duration of about 2-3 seconds.

   
   

   We live on the top floor of an apartment building with a clear view, no other buildings or tall structures surrounding it that could have explained this situation. Does anyone have any idea what happened here?
