Can I adjust the gong to strike the correct number of times for the hour?  It seems to be consistently off by 2 hours.  It has just struck one gong for 3 o'clock, at 2 o'clock it struck 12.  Otherwise the 1050-020 mantle clock is keeping excellent time and chimes beautifully on the quarter hour.  How can you tell how old it is?  Thank you.

In your case move the hour hand clockwise to 12.  Then move the minute hand clockwise to 12 and just beyond.  Be sure to let the clock strike on the quarter, half and 3/4 hour as you approach 12.  Then as you pass 12 the hour hand will have moved to1 and your clock will strike one.  This should correct the problem.
