What you describe sounds like cockroach nymphs, probably of either the German cockroach (Blatella germanica) or brown-banded cockroach (Supella longipalpa).

Do NOT spray chemicals in your kitchen, especially if you have pets or curious children that might inadvertently contact the residue.  BAITS are much better, more effective, longer-lasting, but you still have to be careful since they are still toxic.  Research the active ingredients in baits and make your decision accordingly.  Cockroaches have yet to evolve resistance to boric acid, which is relatively non-toxic (compared to ingredients in most commercial baits, certainly), and you can even make your own batch to place in corners of cabinets and such, out of the reach of children and pets.

The small "worms" that you find in your shower drains and tiles are likely not worms at all, but the larvae of the drain fly or moth fly. These larvae may appear brown or black, and upon closer inspection are pale in the middle and darker on the ends.

In order to  prevent drain fly larvae from further infesting your household, its advisable to  clean all drains, traps and shower surfaces on  regular basis. Clean pipes when necessary and keep up with septic system maintenance.
