Lexus entry-level sedan is one of the best-selling vehicle in the automaker's car lineup and also near the top (behind the 3 and the G) in its class in the year 2008. In addition, the ES was given a major redesign for the year 2007, so the changes are now only minor for 2010.

On the outside, there are a only few styling revisions: such as new grille, headlights, bumper with new foglights, and taillights. The side mirrors are revised for 2008, they have now come with integrated turn-signal lights. There are two new wheel designs as well, both of 17-inch.

The Power of Lexus comes from a 272-horsepower, 254-pound-foot DOHC 24-valve 3.5-liter V-6 with dual variable valve timing, which is backed by a six-speed automatic. There is still the only engine/transmission choice, and the ES continues to be the front drive only. When we tested the 2009 ES, it reached 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds and took almost 127 feet to stop from that same speed, and we already knew that the performance would be dramatically different for the year 2010-even though Lexus estimates its 0-to-60 time to be 6.8 seconds.

This version of Lexus is more freeway cruiser than canyon carver, and it seems everything about this car which is more biased toward a smooth ride. Acceleration is also quick off the line without being startling, and transmission shifts are nearly imperceptible. When taking turns at high speed, the suspension is soft, and there is also some body roll. But we know that twisty roads are not where the ES does its best work. The sedan really performs well on straight roads. Lexus wants to make sure you don't feel road irregularity, and the suspension does a fine job of keeping the vehicle on track.
