I happen to hear a lot about fungal infections every now and then. I was of the view that people tend to have fungal infections during the monsoon but somehow this does not seem to be fully true. Hence I would appreciate if someone could tell me precisely about the causes of fungal infection.

This is something understood fungal infections are caused by contamination with fungi. This is because fungi reproduce spores that can be compared with the seeds of a plant. They can survive certain external influences and thus can live on being almost invisible, while their growth form has disappeared completely. Unlike fungi, spores are quite contagious and can be transmitted from one person to another and resulting in a mere fungal infection. Although the fungal infections are not fatal and can be easily cured; but problems may occur if our resistance is weakened due to some reasons. Hence, the disease may flare up again after a while or may contaminate other people if the spores are not wiped out completely.
