Most of the webmasters and wordpress users I have interacted with are of the view that the utilization of Wordpress especially on a Windows Server having IIS7.0 generally transforms permalinks to get you index.php sort of thing in url, which is quite difficult for the people like I am to change. I have also hosted my site on Windows server IIS 7.0 and I am unable to change the permalinks of Wordpress, What am I suppose to do in order to get rid of this problem and to change the permalinks for my wordpress? Any healthy solution to this problem will be highly appreciated.

In my personal opinion, it is not a big game anymore. First of all, you are required to add a file named, Web.Config to your virtual directory, which often runs your Wordpress blog. This process usually enables a rule of rewriting in IIS7.0 version. This way, you can easily rewrite each of the requests, which does not target a substantial file to the index.php. It is primarily a method to change it to the previous working condition, which further helps you to change your permalinks on windows server IIS7.0. After adding the configuration, you are free to transform permalinks in your wordpress admin pages. Now, you can select your desired structure while removing the prefix (index.php). One thing you must have to take care of is to leave a slash at the start of your preferred structure.
