    PTA's function includes:
    • To regulate the establishment, performance and support of telecommunication procedures and provision of telecommunication services in Pakistan.
    • To accept and expeditiously dispose of requests for paid job for the use of radio-frequency spectrum.
    • To endorse and look after the welfare of users of telecommunication services in Pakistan.
    • To endorse the accessibility of a large assortment of high worth, very fruitful, cost effectual and competent telecommunication services right through Pakistan.
    • To endorse quick modernization of telecommunication procedures and telecommunication services.
    • To examine and judge on grievances and other allegations made in resistance to licensees deriving from out of suspected contraventions of the provisions of this Act, the statutes made and certificates distributed there under and take achievement accordingly.
    • To make recommendations to the Federal Government on guidelines with regard to global telecommunications, provision of support for participation in global meetings and accords to be implemented in family member to the routing of global traffic and accounting settlements.
    • To put on such other roles as the Federal Government may ascribe from time to time.
