Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder that causes excessive sleepiness and also frequent daytime attack. Some of the most common symptoms are:

Periods of extreme drowsiness are every 3 to 4 hours during the day. You might feel a strong urge to sleep, which is followed by a short nap. These periods usually last for about 3 to 4 hours during the day. You then fell strong urge to sleep, It is often followed by a short nap.

They often happen after eating, but might also occur while driving, talking to someone or during other situations. You then wake up feeling refreshed. Dream like hallucination might occur during the stage between sleep and wakefulness. They involve seeing or hearing, and possible the other senses.

The sleep paralyses occur in this disease which means that when you first wake up, you are unable to move. This situation can also occur when you first become drowsy. Cataplexy is a loss of muscle tones while you are awake, which results in the inability for the movement, Strong emotions like laughter or anger will result in cataplexy.
