The limited-edition, two-seat, rear-drive LFA supercar, is due to appear here in 2011, will hide its Toyota roots which are behind the maker of its maker's Lexus brand. The most expensive model in the Lexus portfolio ,is the LS 600h hybrid luxury sedan, which starts at $106,910.
The LFA rides on an aluminum suspension, consists of dual-control arms up front and a multilink setup at the rear. Steering features include electric power assist.
The cockpit consists of feast of carbon fiber, leather, metal, and Alcantara. It is beautifully executed, you will find a touch of finishing of Lexus RX in this vehicle. That is, till you see the primary instrument display: Behind the wheel lies an attractive analog tachometer-except it's a color TFT-LCD illusion. When you switch to one of the four driving-mode switches-normal, auto, wet, or sport-suddenly the tach changes in scale and color . Or if you push another switch and the tach glides out to reveal a host of digital information beneath. This seems pretty cool.
Toyota first supplied two LFA prototypes for drives across the German autobahn – providing with hot laps on the ultimate proving ground. This car can be a great rival with Mercedes Benz SLS AMG.
The ride of LFA is very somewhat hard. There are no variable shocks, on the smoother surfaces the stiffness is irrelevant. The V-10 is scintillating: It pulls pretty hard, flaunts seemingly the hidden torque that light package, and propels this ferocious car to the acceleration of 0-to-60 of 3.7 seconds and a top end of 204 mph. At the 6000 rpm it's just gliding away -- with 3000 rpm left! The sound seems pretty racy.
The Lexus LFA has an extraordinary feat of engineering. It is surrounded by far less costly Ferrari 458s, Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2s, Chevy Corvette ZR1s...$82,000 Nissan GTRs, so it will be a question whether it can keep up with the super cars of other generations or not.
