At Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, all baggage items checked in by Air France passengers in terminal 2C (flights to Asia and Africa) are monitored by electronic chips. An "intelligent" label, using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, is attached to each baggage item, allowing it to be located in real time. The RFID chip, combined with our information systems, lets us track all containers and baggage in the airport baggage handling system to within a few meters. The goal is to analyze our performance and improve the logistics of baggage handling.
