I work for a marketing company and far away from the field of medical science so do not have much knowledge about diseases and disorders. One of friend has been told by the doctors that he is having some kind of immune disorder. I can understand that it has to do something with immune system but would like to know about this in detail.

If we talk about the immune system of the body, it is a complex organization within the body that is normally meant to find and destroy any infectious agents and other invaders of the body. These are actually the White Blood Cells that protect the body from harmful substances and are known as antigens. However, when there is some kind of immune disorder, the immune system mistakenly starts to attack and destroy healthy body tissues. Besides destroying healthy body tissues, immune disorder can also result in unusual growth of an organ and improper functioning. The organs and tissues that can be affected as a result include blood vessels, connective tissues, thyroid or pancreas glands, joints, muscles, Red blood cells and Skin.
