The Immigration and Checkpoint Authority of Singapore is an agency of the government of Singapore and it is taken care of by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The major work that has been done by this authority is that it has appointed at the checkpoints of Singapore the former Singapore Immigration and Registration and the enforcement work that are taken care of by the former Customs and Excise Department. The Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) started their operations in the year 2003 from the 1st April.

The responsibility of the security of the nation of Singapore lies on its shoulders. It prevents the unwanted persons as well as the unwanted cargoes from entering this nation through sea, air and land and performs other duties with great efficiency to ensure the security and the safety of the citizens of Singapore.
