    Torrent files, which are downloaded over BitTorrent file distribution systems are files that contain information that can be downloaded with great speed and efficiency. The actual files contain metadata (data about data) regarding the specific files or folders contained within the torrent file. A list of tracker location networks is also included in order to allow networked computers to team up into groups called swarms. These swarms allow upload speeds to be significantly increased for file downloading - which allows files to be downloaded at incredibly fast speeds. This is known as peer to peer downloading.
