As a Lufthansa passenger you can take items of baggage of certain dimensions and weight with you on your flight under your free baggage allowance. The limits applied depend on your final destination and class of travel and carriage is therefore included in the cost of your fare. You will also find relevant advice about this printed on your ticket. If you would like to take additional baggage with you above this limit, you may of course do so. However, this is then considered to be an extra service which the airline concerned is entitled to charge you for. The level of excess baggage charges depends on your destination: under the ‘weight concept’ it is calculated on fixed amounts per excess kilo; under the ‘piece concept’ fixed amounts are levied per item of baggage exceeding the maximum permissible number and the allowable weights and size guidelines
